Give a container, say a vector...

vector<int> myVec;

And another vector....

vector<int> myVec2

Which is filled with a bunch of numbers. If I want to copy the contents of
myVec2 to myVec you would think the way to do it off hand would be..

copy(myVec2.begin(), myVec2.end(), myVec.begin());

Only this doesn't work. In fact it crashes quite nicely. The reason?
myVec is an empty container, there has been no memory allocated for it.
copy assumes that memory has already been allocated for myVec but that's not
the case. So how do you place the contents of myVec2 into myVec? You
either need to allocate enough space in myVec for all the contents of myVec2
with a call like...

myVec.capacity(myVec2.size());

Or you can use a front_inserter/back_inserter in the call to copy as so...

copy(myVec2.begin(), myVec2.end(), front_inserter(myVec));

Interesting discovery. The only thing to note is you can only use
front/back inserter on containers which support the push_back and push_front
methods. So to conclude make sure the container you're copying to has
enough space to hold what you're copying to it.

Just get your thoughts down. They don’t have to organized at first just write ‘em. The important thing is to have some kind of representation of what you’re thinking. Then you take pieces and link them together and form coherent groups from which you can make further groups. Adjusting everything along the way, taking away, adding until you have a final design. This is something that works. Order out of chaos.
